( A cat tells his and his sister's story from abandonment to death)
My name is Boots. I used to live with a very nice family that adopted me and my sister Fluffy from an animal shelter not too far from our home. We are 7 years old and if I might say very pretty kitties indeed!! I have a beautiful shiny black coat and my sister is a calico with large bright red and orange patches on her sleek coat. Our whiskers are long and graceful.
Several years ago a pregnant young cat was rescued on a farm in Palm City, FL and was brought to Domino's House, a no-kill cage-free cat rescue and adoption facility. After a day of rest she presented to us a beautiful litter of grey/white, black/white kittens which we named after the novel Charlotte's web. One of her handsome kittens was named Avery.
Local artist and Board Member, Mallo Bisset, painted this mural for our Boutique and Bargain Shoppe, located at 925 Martin Downs Boulevard at the foot of the Palm City Bridge. It is currently hung on the outside wall of the Shoppe, so you can't miss it as you approach the foot of the bridge from either direction. She also painted a beautiful kitty who is "pouncing" on the sidewalk to lure you into the Shoppe. Come by for a visit....you won't be disappointed.
This is a picture of Miracle about 2 days old.
Sadly Miracle didn't make it.. This poem is for him..
and the other kitties who gave it a good fight..
On behalf of the residents of Domino's House, past, present and future, very small and very big, on this Earth and looking from "the Bridge"...)
